Living with diabetes means your feet deserve extra attention. You cannot risk infection in a foot soak at a salon. My instruments are medically disinfected for each use. I take the time to assess your feet for red flags commonly seen in diabetic foot care. I perform neuropathy, circulation and even shoe fit assessments.

My mom spent months in the hospital and then in rehabilitation. During that time, no one trimmed her toenails. She also had diabetes, making routine foot care even more important. At every follow-up appointment, I found myself asking the same question: "Can you cut my mom's toenails?" The answer was always a surprising "No." That's when I realized there was a need that wasn't being met.
That's why I became a foot care nurse.
I believe foot care should be comfortable, unhurried, and provided with dignity. I've also learned that the social interaction during a visit is often just as meaningful as the foot care itself.
